Happy Halloween: Green Screen Fun!

Happy Halloween! :: Green Screen Fun!

Today was Halloween and our school held "Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character" Day! It was a fun way to meet some new characters!

In the morning, students took turns taking a photo of their book and then posing like the character. Using our iPads and the Do Ink app we were able to quickly make some outstanding images!

Paid app (I am not being paid to endorse this product.)

Behold! Meet our favorite book characters!

In the afternoon, the room moms and volunteers put on a spook-tacular party!

We had six stations: a Ghoulish Pumpkin Carving (Tangerine decorating) a Ghostly Maze, a Gargantuan Pumpkin Measurement Station, a Frightful Spider Creation Station, a Mysterious 3D building Creation, and a Sweet Donut Bobbing Treat .
What fun the third graders had!

We ended our fun with a Halloween story

What did you think of our green screen images?

Leave a comment as if you are that character still! Strike up a conversation with a book character! (do not use real names.)

What new book will you be reading?

Halloween Fun!

Monday, October 31st was Halloween.

Students dressed up as their favorite book characters. What a wonderful literary day!

At the end of the day, we had a Halloween celebration. We had five stations: a Ghoulish Bingo, a Ghostly Pumpkin Creation Game, a Gargantuan Pumpkin Measurement Station, a Frightful Spider Creation Station, and a Mysterious Charades and Pictionary Game.
What fun the third graders had!

Let's take a look at all their adventures...

Here they are at the Ghoulish Bingo

Here are students rolling the dice to create their Halloween Pumpkin

What frightful fun at Charades!
(can you guess the topic?)

Minds hard at work at the gargantuan pumpkin weighing station

This must be a ghost pumpkin to weigh zero pounds!
Who can solve this mystery?
And for the scariest of them all...the spiders and other Halloween creatures made of delicious treats!

What was your favorite Halloween activity?

Who was your favorite literary character? Tell us a bit about them.
