Baseball began in the eastern United States in the mid 1800s.

Vin Scully was the Dodgers announcer for 67 years. He retired in 2016. That means that he first announced for the Dodgers in 1949!

Baseball season starts with Spring Training in March and ends in April. Opening day this year was April 16th. Six of the thirty professional baseball teams play. The Dodgers outscored the Padres 15-0 on Opening Day.
I started baseball when I was four years old in Little League. I have been playing for five years now and it is my favorite sport.

My dad signed me up for the Junior Dodgers Club. One of the activities we participated in was "Kids Take the Field." I went onto the field before the game and got Adrian Gonzalez's autograph.

After the game I met Tommy Lasorda, who is the Dodgers' manager. He was born in 1927 and was a former Major League Baseball player. He has been involved in sports management with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers for over six decades. That's over 60 years!

I like to learn about baseball and how it works. I like to steel bases.How you do it you get a lead at first base than if the pitch is crazy you run as hard as you can.
Here is how to hit you get a bat your fit and go up to Home plate you wait for a pitch the ump says STRIKE 1.The next pitch you like and crush it as hard as you can the coach tells you to go 2 you power over to second base the call is close the ump says YOU ARE ...THE PLAY IS UNDER REVIEW THE FINAL CALL IS YOU ARE SAFE!The ump says next batter.

You are up to bat you will have to grab the right bat you walk up to home plate the ump says BATTER UP you swing the ump says strike 1 the next pitch you love it it's a high fly ball dropped the coach says to go 2 you power over to 2nd base.SAFE!
The next pitch to the next batter is wild you run to 3rd safe.

ReplyDeleteI love to play baseball. I think it’s the best sport because you get to go hit a ball that can go far, or not so far. I like to be pitcher because you get to throw a ball. It can be called a strike or ball. I play for a little league team. In Mustang you can steal bases. It’s fun to steal bases even if you are out. Even though I don’t get hits I like to play for my team and be there when they need me most.
I like to steal bases it’s so fun because you work on your running.
I like to play 1st base you cover 1st if the batter hits the ball if the throw beats the runner the runner is out. You have to do the handshake line because it shows respect for both teams.
Do you like to play baseball? I like to show respect off the field and on the field because that’s what’s nice.

My favorite sport is basketball. My favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers. Here is some history about them. The head coach is Luke Walton. Luke Walton played for the Lakers when Kobe Bryant was playing before he retired. If you don’t know who Kobe Bryant is than I will tell you. He is a superstar. He won five championships for the Lakers. Lakers was the first Los Angeles team in the NBA. NBA stands for national basketball association. The Lakers won sixteen NBA championships. Do you know who is Kobe Bryant and Luke Walton is?

So first up Jackie Robinson was the first black player to play in the majors.He will get remembered by number 42 being not wired. But every year players ware number 42 to remember how powerful Jackie was. He played on the Brooklyn Dodgers till 1948.

ReplyDeleteI love the Dodgers and baseball me and my brother play catch. 42 is a number that is not wore in baseball because Jackie Robinson was the first player to be a black person. I see the Dodgers hall of fame numbers 42,32 and that's all I can think of. But number 42 is not like the rest it's blue on the outside and white on the inside. So that means that the rest are blue inside and white on the outside.
After the Dodgers win a game the song WE LOVE LA comes on.You should try the Dodger dogs they're very good!Dodger park is a cool place. I go to about 8 or 7 games a year!

I like the Dodgers my dad gets field level seats.
The Dodgers colors are blue and white just so you know what to wear to a Dodger game. It's amazing how many coaches the MLB has about 50 of them! Major league baseball(MLB) 30 teams comes down to 2 and then 1 the champs! The Angels are my second favorite team. The Dodgers are my 1st favorite team.

The Dodgers are a great team to watch on your television. You can get tickets but they are expensive you also might get stuck in LA TRAFFIC but me and my dad always make it so no big deal. If you sit in the deep water the tickets are not that expensive but still perrty expensive you might want to sit in the deep water. Shallow water is about 400 dollars for 1 seat! Sand is around 600 dollars for 2 people not that expensive for 2 people. Field level is 800 per person,you can get to Dodger Stadium different ways but everybody is different don’t forget you are different you have your own personalities. Okay I will stop talking about that,plus you can even take the subway to Dodger Stadium. LA traffic is bad car accidents,high speed chases and a lot more.
I think the Dodgers are the best. I just am happy I live in LA,you can be a part of this post and blog and reply! Remember GO DODGERS GO.

Do you remember that you and I were on the same baseball team for a few seasons?
We used to have practice every Friday and a game on Saturdays. The game we had versus the parents was my favorite. I think we won!
It was fun for me to see a live game because I sat very close and I could see the play right in front of me. I think the Dodgers are my favorite team. What made watching the game most fun was having a hot dog, pretzel and hot chocolate!
I hope to go again.
I am not sure that I want to be on a baseball team again. I do like baseball, but I like soccer better. I am now on a club soccer team, Barca. We have practice twice per week. We usually have a game every Saturday and sometimes on Sundays too. I look forward to the games each week.

I also love watching soccer on tv. I try to watch all the games but often they are on late at night or early morning as they are played in Europe. My favorite soccer team is Real Madrid. My favorite played is Cristiano Ronaldo who plays on Read Madrid. He is number 7. He plays defense. I also play defense. He is such a good player and runs faster than I have ever seen. He also does tricks with his feet when he kicks the balls so other players do not get the ball. You should watch him play sometime. My dream is to watch him play in a live game. I think the starters of the game was Kobe Bryant, Jordan Clarkson, Roy Hibbert, Julious Randle, and Nick Young. I really want to tell you what happened but I don’t want to spoil it. I want to hear about what you think about the game. Lakers is my favorite team in basketball, which the league is called NBA. Do you think that was a good game or not?

The Dodgers did well with him Don Maddeningly did well also he now coaches the Marlins. Gonzalez is a good player, he hit a lot of homers by homers I mean home runs.
I think the Marlins did good because of Stanton.
Back to the Dodgers because Don left Dave Roberts takes over, so that is big hit.
Puig is a good player from Cuba,Cuba is famous for baseball.
As well as Grandal is from Cuba also.
I want to go to the Home Run Derby players hit home runs and the player with the most wins. As you see this comment is amazing and I will make it better.

ReplyDeleteThat smell of the grass of your favorite ballpark like Dodger Stadium. The grass is coded with green like colors. Also the grass blooms like the brightest flower in the world. The grass might get stuck in the player's shoes or get torn up during the game. That grass waves like crazy. That throws the players off balance. In the outfield of Dodger Stadium sometimes the grass throws the players off track and miss the ball.
At Angel Stadium you have to watchout for the big A in the outfield you could slip or throw you off track.
It is important you watch out for the outfield wall you could run into it and you could break a bone.
At Fenway Park in Boston the Green Monster is your enemy it is 36 feet high and solid cement.

ReplyDeleteAs you know Reed here Grant little fellow. The Dodgers have clinched the N.L division 4 straight years that’s power. Charlie Culberson hit the walk-off home-run for the Dodgers so they could clinch. The Angels on the other hand of Los Angeles have some good seasons and some bad ones.
But as long as the Dodgers win they might be in the world series like the Indians they were so close,But they lost to the Cubs NO BODY LIKED IT! My Mom my brother was the Indians fan in the house. Vin Scully on the other hand was the greatest Dodgers announcer for a while.
Sadly he retired last year. He was great And a high fly ball in the air and gone a home-run for Kirk Gibson. Talk about One roll of the dice this is it Gibson is gone Walk it off!!
Those are VIN HIGHLIGHTS He will be remembered in Dodgers history for ever.

I wanted to note that the P.E. game that we had was 50% good and 50% bad in my opinion because people had their first try at the sport. I think Grant the thing is that I will never switch this sport because it’s my favorite.

DeleteThe World Sires was a close one but as it went on the Cubs won it all not since the 1940's have the Cubs won it.
Glad the Indians made it I was the Indians fan in the house,I was glad when Kluber was pitching he is a great pitcher. Plus I went to a Dodgers play offs game. The Dodgers were great until those CUBS came in the d neighborhood and won the world sires.Boy you were lucky if you were cheering for the CUBS.
If only the Dodgers won the play offs game I went to they would be in the sires in stead of the Cubs. It was hard work the Dodgers did to the Nationals Kershaw came in last minute in Washington D.C. The 50% 50% raffle is fun me and my dad had entered it 2 times no luck at all.

ReplyDeleteI am glad the Dodgers clinched the NL wild-card division sires. It was all Charlie Culberson.He hit the blast homer in the 11th inning, I was not watching T.V. I was watching storks at AMC THEATERS. My dad was watching the game he recorded the end for me the Rockies of Colorado were ahead 2-1 then Corey Seager hit a blast and gone the Dodgers have tied it all up. In the 10th inning, And here is Charlie with no homers yet in his career and a drive deep to left and gone HOME-RUN! As the Dodgers have won it 3-2. I was felt awesome and amazing when the Dodgers won and clinched the wild-card. My dad on the other hand was as happy as the Dodgers like me. My brother was not happy that the Angels they also play in Los angeles did not get in it by in it I mean “In the wild-card”.

ReplyDeleteI love the Dodgers they are the best to me. My dad also likes the Dodgers I do not have season passes but me and my dad go to a lot of games. The “Freeway Series” is where the Angels and the Dodgers play each other I have gone to the “Freeway Series” at Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers won 5-1 because of their all-star Kenley Jansen he is like Clayton Kershaw as a reliever. He throws nasty pitches down the strike-zone and the hitter misses a lot of them and strikes out. Kenley only comes in the 9th inning and he has a fastball that reaches up to 93 mph. The first time I watched him was last year 2016.

But the Dodgers lost by 5 in the final game. But you name it the Cubs won the cup,I was not happy I was the Indians fan in the house… they lost. The Dodgers did a good job to the Nationals.Did you know the Expos are the Nationals the Expos were the first team to play in Canada but the Blue-Jays took over.The Nationals play in Washington D.C I will be going there over Winter break. In Little League I am on the Expos. So you know the Nationals history.

LA is a cool place but you have to be careful driving.
Much like New York there are food stands and people selling things on road sides.

ReplyDeleteThis is Grant speaking about baseball. The Dodgers are the best baseball team. The Angels are also good but not as good as the Dodgers. This is Sam speaking, I like fixing things and mountain biking with my dad even though I do not have a bike right now. My dad is looking at really nice mountain bikes for me. My brother really likes his new bike. Now it’s Grant speaking. I like to bike with my bike. My brother has an old bike of mine.
I have a seven speed bike that I really like. I like racing my mom around the block and I never win my mom always wins. She has a pink beach cruiser. Now it’s Sam speaking again, I have a camel backpack that carries water but is not fancy unlike my dad's which is very fancy. I have an orange backpack with a blatter. A batter is a piece of the backpack that holds the water. And at the bottom of the bladder you'll notice that there is a hole at the bottom which is where you put your tube that you can drink from. And at the end of the tube you’ll see a little attachment that you actually drink from. This is Grant speaking: Sometimes my brother joins in the fun by riding his bike with my mom and it’s really fun. My friends and I play baseball outside when we are home because they play baseball like me at Agoura. I’m not saying that biking is not fun it’s just that I play baseball more often.
But it’s fun to play video games Sam got Xbox like me plus we both have “Forza Horizon 3” and “Minecraft”.Forza is an Australian racing festival game. In Minecraft you have to fight for survival by finding blocks and building houses.
The Dodgers have some of the best players in the MLB which stands for Major league baseball. You know what the Angels also have good players I just love Mike Trout.I’m going to 2 spring training games in Arizona.I will see the Dodgers go up against the Rangers and the Angels I will try to get baseball cards signed by the different players. Spring training is sometimes televised which means on TV. I love spring training it’s so cool I am going cool?Anyway, I have MLB 16 for my XBox 1 it’s cool you can make cool plays.Mlb is for Xbox 1. Plus I’m a Dodgers fan. This is Sam doing the ending, Do you like the things me and grant like? This is Grant we are not ending yet we have to make it until Friday right!? Well Sam has the XBox 1s. I have the 1 Think Central is hard sometimes we just have to go with the flo.

ReplyDeleteI'm great at math, but you have to learn different topics like Language arts, science and more. You also have to know how to help someone if they are hurt. That way you can be a king or queen ♔ it takes a matter of time though. Like let's say you want to be a hand-ball star, PRACTICE! If you want to be good at baseball PRACTICE! For everything that may seem hard PRACTICE!
