Hi I am Taylor and I know I am going to have a great year. What is your favorite character in Harry Potter? My favorite character is Hermione. My sister Carsyn asked how long have you been teaching 3rd grade? See you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteDear Taylor,
DeleteWow, I'm so excited that you're blogging with us! We are going to have a wonderful year in 3rd grade.
My favorite Harry Potter character is Hermione also. I like that she always perseveres and tries her best.
I love teaching 3rd grade. I've been teaching 3rd grade for five years.
What do you look forward to in 3rd grade?
Kindly,
Ms. Tulbure
Hi! My name is Tara. I am so excited to be your student for the school year. This summer I went to Cancun, Mexico. I enjoyed being with family and friends in Mexico. Also, I got a pool this summer and it was cold swimming the first few days we went in the pool. I was excited to swim in it with my family!
ReplyDeleteHi Tara,
DeleteWhat great details you have in your post! We're so excited you have commented on the blog.
Cancun sounds like it was a lot of fun. I traveled mostly to cities that did not have a beach nearby, even though some were on the water. For example, Stockholm is on the Baltic Sea, but there are very few beaches like you saw in Mexico.
Is the beach your favorite place to go on vacation? What other places have you visited?
Best,
Ms. Tulbure
Ms. Tulbure,
ReplyDeleteI went to Europe too this summer. I went to Amsterdam and I saw the Anne Frank Museum and the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. Then we went to Brussels on a train. We did a chocolate tour of Belgium. Then we took a train to London. We booked a really nice hotel and we saw Buckingham Palace and inside of it. We went to two musicals. Now I'm ready for 3rd grade.
From,
Wyatt
Dear Wyatt,
DeleteWe're so happy to have you blogging with us. I love the adjectives you used in your post. You also gave a lot of details.
I see you went on a train. I also traveled by train this summer to Copenhagen. It was a long ride, but I loved watching the countryside whiz by my window as the train sped through the stations.
How long was the train ride to Brussels? What was your favorite part?
Kindly,
Ms. Tulbure
Ms. Tulbure,
DeleteI liked sitting next to the window - it was really cool. The tables were different from other trains because they shot out to make a bigger desk and there were two rows facing each other with the table in the middle. The train ride was 2 hours.

Wyatt
Hi I am Benny. I am excited to be in your class this year! I went to China this summer to visit my grandparents. I had a very good time. I also went to Three Gorges Dam which stretches across the Yangtze River. It is one of the largest concrete structures on the planet. Now I'm ready for the third grade of Chaparral.
ReplyDeleteDear Benny,
DeleteWelcome to our blog! I love the details you noted about your visit to China. I have never been to China, but would love to visit. That's so interesting that the Three Gorges Dam is the largest concrete structure on the planet. I learned that it is 594 feet high and 7,661 feet long. That is amazing!
Was there another place you visited this summer that was interesting? What are some activities you do with your grandparents in China?
Best,
Ms. Tulbure
Dear Ms. Tulbure,
DeleteI also went to Wuhan, Yichang, and Xiamen. I think the most interesting thing was the Yangtze River cruise moved from higher water level to low water level through a ship lock. In ten minutes the ship went down at least five stories while the water level was decreasing. It was so cool.
I learned to play Mahjong with my grandparents. It is the most popular game in China. I like playing Mahjong with my grandparents.
Yours,
Benny
Hi Ms. Tulbure,
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that you went to Sweden. My mom grew up there. I have been there many times. It is so much fun and I understand Swedish. I am so excited to be in your class and to learn new things.
Sincerely, Sonny
Dear Sonny,
DeleteWhat great use of capitalization! I'm so excited you're helping us learn our grammar by blogging.
What a coincidence that your mom grew up in Sweden. I loved visiting Sweden. It was so interesting that it was made up of so many little islands. In fact, Stockholm alone is made up of fourteen islands!
What is your favorite part when you go and visit Sweden? What activities do you like to do?
Is there a saying you can teach us in Swedish?
Kindly,
Ms. Tulbure
Dear Ms. Tulbure,
DeleteThank you so much for writing back and the information. My favorite part of going to Sweden is seeing my grandmother, grandfather, and my cousins.
My favorite activity is to go on the subway, because you get to see the city and you get to go underground. What was your favorite activity?
Sincerely, Sonny
I'm so happy to be in your class this year. I wanted to tell you about my trip to San Diego.me and my family went to San Diego with our friends and it was so much fun. We all got a hotel room at HILTON and it had a beautiful view of Torrey Pines golf course and the Ocean. We went swimming in the pool, had lunch, I played some golf with my dad and friends. We also got to visit LEGOLAND and it was great seeing all the characters made out of lego's. It must have took months to make them. At LEGOLAND we also went to the water park part and went on all the rides. There was even a fun roller coaster. We all did it together with our friends. Overall we had a lot of fun and made some great memories.
